Hello,

a bit about me:

My name is Megan Galloway, and I am a native of Metairie, Louisiana, but have called Greenville, South Carolina home for the last 10 years. I am a senior at the University of South Carolina, pursing a bachelor’s degree in Public Health. I entered the university in August 2013, and am intending on completing my degree in August 2016 – almost an entire year earlier than I originally expected. Though it has been a short 3 years that I have spent at USC, I have made sufficient use of my time as a student and a leader in community service.

The majority of my community service has been spent at Harvest Hope Food Bank where I serve as a Community Service Ambassador through USC. I resonate with the values of the organization, and love contributing my time to their operations. The approximately 150 hours that I have spent at Harvest Hope over the past 7 months has guided me to make the decision that working in a setting where I can benefit the community, especially those who are experiencing varying degrees of social inequality, is where I want to put my talents. I would like to be able to incorporate health and wellness initiatives as well, which I have already done at Harvest Hope by making flyers available to families about all of the important aspects that are necessary to maintain a healthy family. I believe that my passion for health in the community and my creativity can lead me to an exciting and meaningful career.

This website is designed for Graduation with Leadership Distinction in Community Service, and my resume that is attached to this page highlights my service experiences that I have briefly mentioned, and more. The specific key insights that I have developed in the classroom and through my community service can be found under the “Key Insights” tab at the top of this page. In the Leadership tab, you will find out more about an issue that is important to me, and a detailed plan of how I intend to solve it.
